Key Points

  • Cannabis distributed by licensed CHRAs is not medical cannabis and is not intended as a substitute for medical treatment. It may be unsuitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, including psychiatric predispositions.
  • We do not promote, encourage, or advertise cannabis use. Membership is limited to adult Maltese residents aged 18 and over who already use cannabis responsibly and accept full personal responsibility. Tourists and individuals without a Maltese ID or residence card are not eligible for membership.
  • Cannabis use and possession in Malta is only partially decriminalized and subject to strict legal limits, including a maximum of 7 grams per day and 50 grams per month obtained from the association. Breaches of ARUC regulations or the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance may result in administrative or criminal consequences.
  • High-THC products present additional risks. ARUC advises members aged 18 to 21 to avoid products exceeding 15% THC, and distribution of products exceeding 18% THC to individuals under 21 years of age is prohibited. Risks include potential effects on developing brains, problematic use (particularly when combined with nicotine or other substances), and other health-related issues.
